On-Page SEO: Titles, Headings, and Internal Links

On-page SEO is the set of things you control directly on the page itself. None of it is exotic, and most of it is easy to get right once you know the checklist. AI can draft these elements, but you should understand what each one is for so you can tell when the draft is off.

The core elements

  • Title tag: the clickable headline in search results. Lead with the target phrase, keep it readable.
  • Headings: one H1, logical H2/H3 structure. They map the article for readers and crawlers alike.
  • Meta description: the pitch under the title. It does not rank you, but it earns the click.
  • Internal links: link to your related pages with descriptive text, spreading relevance across your site.
Write for humans first
Stuffing the keyword into every heading reads as spam to people and to modern engines. Use the phrase naturally where it fits, and prioritize a clear, scannable page. Clarity is an SEO tactic, not a tradeoff against one.
